You will be responsible for launching products into a high volume automotive or healthcare environment. You should also have stress modeling experience. Solidworks experience is a must. Essential Functions Develop and release advanced MEMS package designs and materials from prototype to production.Develop thermal and mechanical modelsConduct design and product reviews.Interface with customer to identify new applications and propose packaging technology leading to increased revenue and reduced product introduction costs.Develop, qualify and interact with packaging and assembly vendors on development programs.Document new design, process and testing following our Sensors project development proceduresManage prototype builds through the development phase of programs on time and on budget.Generate PFMEA, DFMEA, drawings, materials MSDS, compliance and qualification documentationLead package related Failure Analysis of both development MEMS devices and existing products.Conduct periodic benchmarking of designs, materials and processes. Qualifications / RequirementsMS or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science or related fields.5+ years experience with MEMS packaging development in automotive and/or medical applications.Demonstrated success with MEMS pressure sensors packages preferred.Proven ability to design packages in the following materials & formatsPlastic packages (both transfer & injection molded, SMT, QFN, CSP, BGA etc)Metal (Headers)Ceramic (HTCC & LTCC)Materials knowledge (epoxy & silicone adhesives, encapsulants etc)Practical “hands-on” experience with MEMS devices.Knowledge of design for manufacturing, design for reliability and reliability models & standardsThorough working knowledge of FEA and CAD software design tools with Solidworks (is a MUST) and Ansys experience preferred.Ability to perform MEMS device and characterization testing activitiesFamiliar with and able to coordinate activities related to new product introduction methodologies (i.e. design, fabrication, qualification, production release and manufacturing support)Track record in patents, technical publications, and membership in technical organizationsProficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project). DesiredExperience working with new product introduction and project management.Experience with high volume manufacturing and assembly techniques.
