Job Description Summary: DataStax, the leading provider of database software for cloud applications, is seeking a Technical Support Engineer -Tier 2 to join our DataStax team.Job Description: As a Technical Support Engineer -Tier 2, you will utilize your passion for helping others succeed. You will also expand your knowledge of troubleshooting, configuration, and exciting new technologies such as Apache Cassandra and DSE.Essential Job Functions:Research, reproduce, troubleshoot, and solve highly challenging technical issuesProvide thoughtful direction and support for technical inquiriesEnsure that customer issues are resolved as expediently as possibleReproduce customer issues and log JIRA ticketsParticipation in on-call rotation for after-hours, holiday, weekend support coverageCreate code samples, tutorials, and articles for the DataStax Knowledge BaseCollaborate and contribute to Support Team infrastructure tools and processesJob Requirements:BA/BS/MS in Computer Science, or equivalentAt least 6 years of experience in a support related, customer-facing roleStrong Linux skills - navigation and toolsStrong understanding of Java, Python, and/or another programming languageGood understanding of relational and/or alternative database technologiesAble to debug and identify network issuesExcellent verbal and written communication skillsSelf-motivated with ability to multi-task and work under minimal supervision
