The MIPS Architecture Team is responsible for architecture definition and evolution, microarchitecture development, and performance modelling, analysis and verification of next generation processor designs. In this position, you will work with architects, HW designers, and SW/compiler developers to identify opportunities to improve performance and energy efficiency of MIPS embedded processors through architectural, microarchitectural, and/or compiler improvements. You will also work with implementation teams to ensure designs meet their targeted performance/power goals.Primary responsibilities includeDevelop and validate architectural models and simulators for quantifying performance and energy consumptionAnalyze target workloads and benchmarks to guide the development of processor architecture, microarchitecture, and compilersDevelop visualization and automated infrastructure to increase accuracy and productivity in analysis and verificationCreate performance diagnostics to isolate and measure performance of targeted features and related infrastructure to track resultsDebug performance issues and identify necessary fixesWork with internal processor development teams to drive performance aspects of designWork with compiler team to tune compiler for different pipelinesQualifications:The preferred candidate must have the following qualifications:-Knowledge of processor architecture and micro-architecture concepts such as pipelines, caching, coherence, and branch predictionExperience with building and using architectural simulators for performance and power estimationAbility to program fluently in C++, Perl, Python, and Unix scriptingExperience/Education:EE,CE,CS degree in Computer Architecture.· Ph.D. preferred.· MS 2+ years experience· BS 3+ years experienceOutstanding candidates with EE,CE,CS degree in Computer Architecture with significant knowledge and modeling experience in the area of Computer Architecture are acceptable with any experience level.
