We’re currently searching for a Supervisor for quality assurance as a member of our engineering/quality group. The quality assurance supervisor will work under the direction of Engineering and Executive Management and directly with operations and production staff to direct activities concerned with development, application and maintenance of quality standards for production processes, materials and products throughout our plants. This full-time position is located in our Union City headquarters and manufacturing facility and will require some travel to other facilities. You will have a direct hand in ensuring continuous production of products consistent with established standards by performing the following duties. Essential Duties / ResponsibilitiesDevelop and initiate quality assurance standards for production, products, and supplies. Validate quality processes by establishing attributes; measuring production; documenting evidence; determining operational performance qualifications; writing and updating quality assurance procedures; and organizing related training activities.Coordinate objectives with production procedures; cooperate with other plant team leaders to maximize product reliability and minimize costs by conducting analyses; identifying critical control points and preventative measures; establishing critical limits, monitoring procedures, corrective actions and verifications procedures.Sample and evaluate vendor supplied incoming shipments of components by performing routine analysis to monitor incoming components.Be extremely thorough and detail-oriented and work well with established processes while creating and implementing new processes for improved quality control.Prepares quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing statistical data, determine standards, summarize information and trends including failed processes, corrective actions, and validations.Achieves quality assurance operational objectives by contributing information and analysis to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; identifying and resolving problems; completing audits; determining system improvements; and implementing change.To continuously identify, recommend and/or undertake activities and methods to make positive contributions to the company goals and initiatives within the scope of the position.Performs and direct workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities and products.Work will require individual to enter plant areas where performance factors such as: heat, noise, dust, lifting of materials and working around equipment will be encountered. Important Skills and AbilitiesGood communication skills in both English and fluent SpanishCurrent work documents or U.S. citizenship with passport for cross-border travel.Computer literate, familiar with MS Word and Excel.Construct charts and graphs to visually present quality data and analyses to personnel and suppliers.Possess excellent written skills.Ability to compose reports and document procedures.Knowledge of quality assurance programs and quality control inspection systems.Ability to read and understand Bills of Materials (BOMs) and manufacturing shop orders.Ability to read mechanical drawings and specifications and knowledge of measurement tools and equipment for processing of components.Ability to work effectively with others, be flexible in work assignments, and assimilate and understand information in a manner consistent with the essential functions. Must be able to accept and work in a dynamic environment where the need to attend to multiple projects and adapt to changing demands in a timely manner is essential.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. You should have sufficient education, training and/or work experience to demonstrate possession of these skills.
