My name is Jerry.
I am a handsome, marbled tabby. I have been combo tested and am current on all my vaccinations, including feline leukemia.
I was found outside a young couple's home, abandoned with my mom and two siblings. I watched as my mother and two siblings left me; I heard the people talking about being adopted. All I know is that I was alone and scared.
The young couple kept me for awhile but their cat began to fight with me. So, I had to defend myself. The young couple brought me to strange place called an adoption site and put me in a cage for people to look at me. I was scared and confused.
One day, a nice lady took me to her house to foster me for awhile. She put me in a bedroom and went to work. In the evening, she would visit me. But, alas, she didn't really have time for me as she spent long hours working. So back to the adoption site I went.
Then one day a man came and adopted me to be a companion to his elderly father, but the elderly father was placed in a nursing facility. At first. they let me come too. Then some people didn't like cats there and kept throwing me outside.
The man brought me back to adoption site because he could see how mean they were to me. The lady at the adoption site promised me this time she would find me a good home. She found a kind couple who took me home to a wonderful outdoor cottage where I shared it with an older, lady cat and had wonderful, supervised outdoor visits.
I loved the outdoors, always had. I got lots of love and attention too. I thought it would last forever, but one day they brought me inside their house with lots of other strange cats and my outdoor days were over.
One of those strange cats didn't like me and I began to feel threatened. I needed my own territory and outdoor time without those other cats. I guess I did something wrong because the kind couple put me in a carrier and took me back.
Now I am alone again. The adoption lady who took me back did not have a space for me in a new foster home, so she has to board me at a kindly vet's office. After seeing the look on my face, she promised me that this would never happen again, that she would make sure that I would have my own forever home with my very own forever person.
Are you my forever person, even if I do something wrong? Can it just be you and me and no other strange cats?
