Domestic Short Hair - Orange and white - Tigger - Large - Adult
One day in 2002 a visitor was coming to the Town Cats shelter and as she turned into the parking lot she noticed a cardboard cat carrying case under the mailboxes. She picked it up and it was quite heavy. She brought her "package" to us and told us where she'd found him. We named this striking orange and white tabby short haired boy Tigger. He's about 5 years old now and with lots of love and attention lavished on him by the TC staff and volunteers, he has blossomed. Tigger is always one of the first kitties to show up at meal time and he loves to be petted. When he trusts you, he'll trust you to the end - you can see his love and happiness in his eyes at getting attention. He tolerates getting groomed and is extremely social with other cats. His best friends are Basil, Boomer, Buddy, Ulysses and Desi...the boys who are always first in line at meal time! If you want to meet him, watch how he is with the volunteers he trusts. He lets himself be scratched and is happy as can be. When he first meets a strange person, he sizes them, up, and may even hiss nervously - talk to him for another couple of minutes and put your hand out gently, and he forgives you for being new, and rubs against you. You have to understand, he went through some rough times, and with being dumped in a box, he wants to make sure he knows you before he trusts you... He definitely should be in a home with other friendly cats. Small children might scare him but cat-savvy patient older children will be fine. He truly is a sweet quiet boy - maybe would be good with patient seniors who already have a cat, or might want another cat or two?
