Buffy (the toy mouse slayer) is a gorgeous buff tabby kitty with white socks and belly and large round green eyes. She was a feral caught approximately three month old kitten who needed a little extra foster care time to socialize her to trusting humans. Even with such a short time living as a feral kitty, her instincts to survive and protect herself are very strong. She may not be the type of cat you can pick up and carry around like a rag doll, but once she gets to know you, she will feel comfortable enough to climb into your lap for pets and nose licks, like any of the best feline companions. She also likes to curl up with you in bed and wake you up in the morning with nose licks. She is most comfortable with human interactions when you are calm and still, but she is also very playful and energetic and loves to interact with you in play with string toys and a laser pointer. Being very food motivated, this helps her learn to trust the person who feeds her. She will be a bit more of a challenge than a kitty who has never had to survive on her own, but there is nothing better than the sense of accomplishment you receive when Buffy tentatively reaches out to you in trust. Her foster parent has worked with her for only a few months, who knows how great a house cat she is going to be with more time in a safe loving environment. She is in foster with her sister Xandra, and as with most kitties leery of human interaction, having other cats around could be helpful for her to be comfortable in her new home.
