  • The Controller is the senior most finance and accounting position in the company. The Controller will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer. The position will be responsible for accurate representation of the financial health of the company to the Board of Directors, Investors and Bankers. The Controller will manage an accounting team. The position requires “a hands on” financial manager familiar with working in closely held and high growth manufacturing and distribution business. The candidate will be responsible for review and management of the accounting processes for the business. Other accounting functions will include business analysis, financial reporting, cash management and weekly cash flow analysis. The position requires the ability to create tools and systems to provide critical financial and operational information, making actionable recommendations on strategy and operations.As the Controller, representing the Company, the position will require excellent communication skills in financial discussion with the investors, bankers, external audit and tax firm, insurance providers. The candidate will have developed business plans and made presentations representative of executive teams goals. The Controller will require experience with FR/X (China) and off shore manufacturing.Essential accounting duties will include oversight of accounting staff; A/P, A/R, payroll, inventory and cash flow reporting. The position will also be responsible for generating monthly financial reports, complying with federal, state and local tax filings, filing multi state sales and use tax reports and personal property reports.As a member of the senior leadership team, the Controller will cooperate and advise the executive team in evaluating and assisting with the financial planning and will maintain accounting standards according to US GAAP. The role will require performance of all financial due diligence on major programs, ventures, and business relationships. The candidate will support development of new mission building and/or revenue-generating business models and enhance existing programs through careful and factual financial analysis.Other essential attributes will include the quick understanding of the business culture. Demonstrated experience in working as a team builder in a closely held business is critical to a successful hire. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Safeguard assets and assure accurate and timely recording of all transactions by implementing disciplines of internal audits, controls and checks across all departmentsManage the accuracy and productivity of day-to-day activities of accounts payable, cash disbursements, invoicing/billing, customer credits and collections, payroll, perpetual inventory integrity, fixed asset records, general & entity accounting, cost accounting, Human Resources, and Operations etc.Develop, improve and issue timely monthly financial records for Executive Team and Board of DirectorsAssure financial plans are consistent with organizational goalsProvide financial analysis tools to evaluate company ventures or special projects, programs, capital expenditures, products costing, etc. when necessaryManage commercial banking relationships to facilitate an appropriate credit resource under highly competitive termsWork closely with Executive Team in the development and economic evaluation of benefits plans, including healthcare plans for staffInterface with outside audit firms(s), banks, casualty/liability insurance and other external relationshipsMaintain the vision and leadership supporting the management team throughout all areas of the business creating a well-respected and sought after department goalSupervise overall Operations (including: Safety, Security, Computer Services and Building Maintenance)Other duties on an ad hoc basis. Position RequirementsManages the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the Accounting/Finance, Operations.
