Job Title: Service Technician IIILocation: Remote (home to client to home)Coverage Area: San Francisco Bay AreaDepartment: Service (Operations)Reports to: Service ManagerFLSA Status: Non-ExemptSummary: Service Technician III provides customer service in person and/or by telephone to customers. Will also help fulfill the needs of the maintenance schedule when needed. Provides support and training to all levels below Tech III.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, but are not limited to.Perform field repairs on parking access and building access systems, software and/or hardware related.Troubleshoots and corrects problems on devices/equipment down to board levelCorrect/fixes minor to complex software issues on parking/access systems.Understands and troubleshoots the entire setup of a Skidata network.Properly identifies all network devices on a LAN (router, modem, switch etc.)Works with upper level support to setup/configure firewall, router and other network devices.Understands and troubleshoots the basic setup of a credit card configuration within the Skidata network.Effectively identifies and handles CC processing issues/problems.Provides good effective customer serviceProperly identifies when higher level support is needed.Effectively executes troubleshooting instructions from higher level support.Properly maintains vehicle statusProperly maintains his/hers inventory levels.Properly communicates with service coordinator and service management team.Responsible for transactions for assigned SRO’s in SM plus on a per SRO basis (parts and Labor) also to include maintenance checklist.QUALIFICATIONS - To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily and maintain a clean driving record. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE - High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent and two years of training/experience in related field required. Good skills in the use of hand tools required. SKIDATA equipment and software training supplied by SKIDATA and Sentry Control Systems, Inc.LANGUAGE SKILLS - Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to document simple tasks completed on a company provided work order and maintenance checklist.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS - Valid Driver's License.PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
