Maintenance Mechanic location San Jose,CA execute all the necessary maintenance practices in order to maintain the production equipment under efficient and good running conditions. To be trainable for the next position in his department. DUTIES The duties of this position are those described below. Essential Duties These duties directly and substantially serve to achieve the purpose of the position.· Communicates effectively and learns how to read electrical and mechanical blueprints uses simple shop mathematics and possesses knowledge of company, local, state, and federal electrical codes.· Assists and learns from “A” mechanics to make proper installations of complex electrical circuits from wiring diagrams.· Assists and learns from “A” mechanics to installs, operates, maintains, checks and troubleshoots all types of AC and DC electrical and mechanical equipment.· Disassembles, repairs and reassembles gear boxes, fans conveyors, blowers, compressors, pumps, valves, furnaces, drives and all allied mechanical equipment when directed or when directly related to electrical troubleshooting.· Assists and learns from “A” mechanics: hydraulic, compressed air systems and later do the troubleshooting of these systems.· Installs and repairs electrical conduit, cables, piping, and tubing, including all necessary connections, controls and grounding as direct· Possesses a working knowledge of the following equipment: o Power tools such as drill presses, cut off saws, lathes, mills and portable power hand tools.o Electrical test equipment such as voltmeter, mugger, ammeter, diode and SCR tester.· Works in teams with all other maintenance and production employees to work on production machines, repairs and breakdowns (Troubleshoot).· Uses safe working practices and reports all hazardous conditions and acts at all times.· Inspects machines, takes required tests, completes “ALL” reports as required for company records keeping.· Possesses the necessary basic personal hand tools of the trade. Must be concerned with their assigned tools and equipment, taking care of its good working conditions.· Possesses and uses knowledge of plant electrical distribution systems.· Determines when parts need replacement and when repairs are necessary the machinery assigned to do work to.· Operates mobile lift truck and hoisting equipment in the performance of his/her work.· Cleans and paints all repaired equipment as directed.· Collaborates in keeping all maintenance equipment; tools and working are clean and orderly.· Possesses knowledge and learns more about lubricants for all type of machines and performs necessary lubrication of production machines as directed.· Maintains spare parts inventory for plant equipment by checking out parts from parts stock room and must help “A” mechanics and Supervisors with the right information for restocking.· Assist “A” mechanics and supervisors with the completed work order objectives and correlate the written status report.Experience: 1 years· Experience in Industrial Maintenance/Electrical, Food Manufacturing Environment Preferred Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience may be considered for the above. Knowledge:Good Manufacturing PracticesForklift Exp.Basic MathAbility to read electrical diagrams, have good electrical skills.Familiar with OSHA regulations, AIB standards.
