Australian Cattle Dog (Blue Heeler) - Jumping Jack Flash
Frolicking Fun Forever!
This active, fun loving, approximately approximately 50 pound, purebred blue and red merled Queensland Heeler (Australian Cattledog) is around 4 years old. His favorite activities are splashing in the pool, chasing the sprinkler or hose water (and can he ever leap) and fetching. If he had his druthers, he'd probably fetch for 24 hours straight.
J.J. is great off-leash and, as a herding dog, keeps a close eye on his walker to make sure s/he's not far behind. Anxious to please, he sits, stays, and comes very well on command.
Jumping Jack (J.J.) Flash was found running loose with a broken rope tied halter-style around his body. Perhaps he'd chewed his way through or it had broken when he was being transported in a truck, or he'd simply gotten out of someone's yard. Unable to find his owners, a neighbor boy suggested bringing him to us, since the finders were planning to turn him over to the public kill shelter.
Scared at first, but quickly warming up to playing with the female dogs here, J.J.'s confidence is building daily. Jack would welcome an active companion or family for dog parks, water sports, and, we suspect, Frisbee fetching.
His temperament with young children and cats is untested.
