The Debit Card Fraud Risk Management team within DPG is seeking a highly self-motivated, investigative, curious, and computer savvy individual with excellent level of SQL, big data analytics and financial services industry knowledge to support various debit card fraud risk management initiatives. Responsibilities include: Collaborate with internal and external analyst / partners to detect and mitigate debit card fraud risk, investigate the root cause of fraud event, create new or improve existing statistical detection models or processes that mitigate the fraud risk to improve customer experiences and minimize losses for the bank; Partner with other risk consultants to enhance existing or create new fraud detection and tracking processes and capabilities; Analyzing large quantity of transactions and fraud claims from customers, which drives decision making around if/when/how to evolve fraud risk detection and mitigation strategies; Evolve MIS reporting as needed to adapt to changes in systems, processes, and/or data sources; Optimize team's existing business intelligence processes to gain efficiency and ensure timely detection of fraud events; Conduct regular source data & Business Intelligence process review to ensure soundness of established processes; Independently seek new data sources across the organization and integrate them into team’s Business Intelligence processes; Perform various complex activities related to business analysis and/or modeling to minimize operating losses and other risk exposures; Locations: San Francisco, CA; Concord, CA Required Qualifications 6+ years of risk experienceA BS/BA degree or higher6+ years of SQL or SAS experience6+ years of risk management experience5+ years of statistical modeling experience Desired Qualifications Debit card experienceKnowledge and understanding of fraud risk and mitigation: strategies to reduce or mitigate loss and fraud exposures Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skillsA Master's degree or higher in a quantitative disciplineKnowledge and understanding of TableauKnowledge and understanding of VB (Visual Basic)UNIX experienceMainframe experienceExperience in gathering, analyzing and interpreting large datasets Extensive statistical modeling, analysis, optimization and segmentation experienceKnowledge and understanding of financial services industryAbility to manage complex data and reporting projects requiring coordination of resources at different levels both internally and externallyKnowledge and understanding of analytical methods used in: statistical analysis, modeling, and reportingKnowledge and understanding of business drivers: economics and implications for marketing strategyKnowledge and understanding of data visualization Knowledge and understanding of financial analysis, forecasting, modeling and trackingOutstanding problem solving and analytical skills with ability to turn findings into strategic imperativesAbility to work in a fast paced deadline driven environmentAdvanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) skills Other Desired Qualifications Ability to design and optimize complex SQL queries involving table joins, correlated sub-queries on large scale data tables; Previous data modeling experience using decision tree analysis.
