  • Job Summary: This is a hands-on supervisory management position responsible for creating an exceptional guest experience in a fast-casual environment. S/he will model and create an environment in which the customer is satisfied and the staff is happy and held to professional standards. Safety Statement All employees shall follow safe practices according to the injury and illness Prevention Policy (IIPP), render every possible aid to safe operations, and report all unsafe conditions or practices immediately to any management employee or Human Resources.Supervisors and Leads are fundamentally responsible for ensuring safety in their own departments and to uphold the following safety standards:Demonstrate a positive attitude toward safetyEnsure work is performed in a safe manner and all safety rules, regulations and instructions are in complianceReport and investigate workplace injuries in a timely manner; identifies ways to eliminate risk of reoccurrence; complete audits; conduct monthly safety meetings and trainings; maintain compliance with hazardous materials program; inform/train new employees on specific safety aspects and procedures with the department and location; participate in monthly management safety meetings Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Kitchen Supervision: (40%)Oversee day-to-day food preparation and production to owner and restaurant specificationsCook on all stations as neededTake inventory of products and daily orderingOrder all items/supplies needed for the operationResponsible for opening and closing the restaurantWrite weekly schedules for all kitchen staffDocument employee performancesTake accurate monthly inventoriesOversee day to day preparation and production of food to restaurant specifications Leadership (30%)Ensure all employees are trained, motivated and empowered to deliver total customer satisfactionCreate a positive and supportive environment for the staffContinuously improve the skills, knowledge and morale of all employees and clearly communicate standards and expectations.Provide leadership and personal support to team; coach, guide, nurture and develop the right people; "walk the talk".Write and maintain training expectations for service standards; hold staff accountable to standardsManage supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.Ensure a safe environment working with the Guest Risk Manager and Safety Administration Manager; ensure all Health Inspections are passed.Customer Service (20%) Supervise varying shifts on the floor to open, close and perform daily serviceWork hands-on in the restaurant, knowing and using Dinerware,Make positive contact with guests and working alongside staffEnsure the flow of ordering to fulfilling orders is timelyTrack all customer complaints, and respond to and resolve non-routine customer complaints.Ensure customer service policies and procedures are consistent with company policy.Establish and nurture relationships with local community and business partners Operations (10%)Work with Director of Hospitality to create restaurant budgetsManage restaurant to meet budgetAnalyze business - KPIs and what we do with them, etc. - as a solid system for business analysisExecute company wide marketing programs; initiates programs on time, correctly and with minimal direction.Provide business updates/issues to supervisor and peersUtilizes labor effectively to meet budgets while ensuring high quality of quality, service and cleanlinessManage inventory- quantity, frequency, inventory, MOS and run-out dates. Prepare and analyze sales and inventory reports.Maintain critical standards: product and service quality, restaurant cleanliness, and tempo of service.Ensure compliance including responsible beverage service.Maintain daily banking and cash handling procedures.Work in partnership with other department managers and leaders to drive company focus, manage culture, encourage a strong work ethic and foster an environment of trust and respect. Supervisory Responsibilities: 10-30 employees including direct supervision of managers, supervisors and leads Job Requirements: Education/Experience:Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university preferred, plus a minimum of five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
