The Community Banking Segment Executive in Wells Fargo Merchant Services provides strategic direction, financial management and leadership for all aspects of the Community Banking sales segment of Merchant Services business. This highly visible position reports directly to the Head of Treasury Management. Key responsibilities include leading the Merchant Services Community Banking Sales Channel, comprised of two large business development sales teams: external sales and telesales. Partnering with product, credit, service, risk, technology and distribution, this role will have frequent interaction with community bank leadership and will pro-actively drive expansion of the business. Team members support our focus on building strong customer relationships balanced with a strong risk mitigating and compliance-driven culture which firmly establishes those disciplines as critical to the success of our customers and company. They are accountable for execution of all applicable risk programs (Credit, Market, Financial Crimes, Operational, Regulatory Compliance), which includes effectively following and adhering to applicable Wells Fargo policies and procedures, appropriately fulfilling risk and compliance obligations, timely and effective escalation and remediation of issues, and making sound risk decisions. There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit’s risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements. Responsibilities include: Generate strong business sales results in alignment with appropriate goals, operational controls and Wells Fargo risk tolerance by providing overall vision, strategic direction and day to day leadership. Develop vision and plans to support the long term strategic direction of the Community Banking Segment business and actively collaborate with the WFMS executive committee on driving the business as a whole. Lead the development, planning and execution of business and sales initiatives that drive business results within a complex business platform. Identifies new opportunities, leveraging internal or external resources and data to build a segment specific customer perspective that helps our customers achieve greater financial results. Provide inspirational leadership and direction to all team members as well as hire, develop and retain a diverse and exceptional workforce. Develop vision and plans to support the long term strategic direction of the Community Banking Segment business. Collaborate with key senior executives to anticipate and address customer needs. Manage business functions by establishing operational controls and standards, monitoring on-going operations and adjusting priorities to meet changing market, competitive and regulatory conditions while monitoring and administering the budget. Proactively communicate expectations and respond to complex product, operational and reputational risks of a large geographically dispersed sales business. Ensure the delivery of high quality services and experiences to internal partners and external customers/prospects while managing for current and future growth. Other Desired QualificationsRequired Qualifications: 10+ years of sales leadership experience 10+ years of banking management experience 10+ years of budget management experience Additional Qualifications 10+ years’ experience leading a multi-tiered transactional sales team with P&L responsibilities for a banking partnership/relationship oriented business. Extensive knowledge of the Community Bank model and demonstrated experience driving revenue growth Demonstrated success in developing and executing on a strategic vision, corresponding business goals and leading a complex business to achieve financial goals. Proven success in leading a sales business with credit, operational and reputational risk in alignment with corporate risk tolerance and appetite. Proven ability to establish clear priorities amongst competing short and long-term interests, stakeholders and business needs. Extensive experience with the payment processing industry and a complete understanding of interchange; and Payment Network rules, regulations and operations. High level of experience with merchant processing solutions and technologies. Demonstrated success driving sales, implementation and service. Demonstrated success in driving business results through partnering with key stakeholders, leveraging collaborative teams and ensuring accountability for goals and objectives all with the customer’s best interest at the forefront. Proven success in identifying, developing, motivating and retaining future business leaders. Track record of developing and retaining diverse and exceptional future Wells Fargo leaders. Experience leading and managing a diverse team with team members in multiple locations. Outstanding executive and customer communications skills. Desire to work with Financial Technology companies.
