  • Overview: The position of Loan Documentation Specialist is responsible for regularly supporting the Loan Documentation and Quality Assurance Manager, and ensuring department activities run smoothly and efficiently; providing assistance or backup within the department as required; assisting in special projects; and, performing duties related to preparing accurate and compliant loan documents for business, commercial real estate, construction, and consumer loan products. Assures compliance with all Bank policies and procedures, as well as, all applicable state and federal banking regulations.Responsibilities: Provides support to all assigned areas of the department where service or assistance is needed.Reinforces the application of superior customer service through his or her own example along with appropriate follow through with involved internal customers and employees.Conducts quality control reviews of incoming document order requests, as assigned by department manager, for accuracy and compliance with the selected product; works with the loan processor/closer and/or loan officer to resolve any discrepancies.Prepares loan documents for all loan types with accuracy, and in compliance with the terms and conditions of the loan approval.Participates in assuring quality control in regards to audits and certifications.Answers the telephone; responds to routine loan officer or internal customer inquiries relative to documentation issues.Provides effective internal customer service and assists in resolving problems within given authority.Cross trains in all loan documentation and quality control functions. Qualifications: High school diploma or one year certificate from college or technical school and; (2) or more years related experience and/or training; Or the equivalent combination of education and experience.Work related experience should consist of a credit or loan processing background.Educational experience, through in-house training sessions, formal school or financial industry related curriculum, should be business or financial industry related.Experience, knowledge and training in lending activities, terminology and products and services.Work experience, knowledge and training in all loan documentation activities and terminology, including LaserPro software.Basic knowledge of related state and federal banking compliance regulations, and other Bank lending policies.Knowledge of title policies and related loan regulations such as RESPA, HMDA and other Bank lending policies on loans to directors.Skills in personal computer operation, word processing, spreadsheet and specialty software (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.)Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
