Be a technical lead and provide day-to-day operational and system level support to all our users worldwide. Communicate highly technical information to both technical and nontechnical personnel. Recommends hardware and software solutions, including new acquisitions and upgrades. Conduct monthly maintenance on existing in-house systems. Manage global infrastructure projects in a team environment soliciting inputs, defining requirements, and coming up with an implementation plan which will include budgeting, approval presentations, and architecture diagrams. May travel abroad periodically to assist in project implementations. Finally provide 24x7x365 IT support worldwide – may work weekends on occasion.RESPONSIBILITIES:·Design, deploy, and maintain Windows systems (Windows server 2008 r2 and 2012), virtualization environments (vsphere 4.1, 5.5, and 6), DHCP, DNS, NTP, CA, cross-forest, multiple-Domain Active Directory, GPOs, and other core infrastructure components in an enterprise environment.Monitor and report on production systems globally to maintain uptime and availability – includes both HW and SW level monitoring.Identify and implement automation opportunities to eliminate repetitive tasks.Create and maintain server and network infrastructure documents and runbooks that clearly map out the operation of the infrastructure and production systems in detail.Must be able to script in PowerShell – i.e. can script the importing of users information into AD overnight if given an exported CSV file from another source and told to populate specific fields for each user.Help manage our global cloud solutions - Office 365 (Exchange online), ServiceNOW, CrashPlan, and Airwatch.Provide on occasion level 2 desktop support across multiple sites in person and remotely.Maintain and resolve IT incidents via our helpdesk system (ServiceNOW).On occasion assist with backups and tape rotation (Veritas BackupEXEC).Diagnose and resolve technical issues as necessary.Escalating issues to the IT Director or senior engineers where and when necessary.Be part of a team of experts who know the value of mentoring and technical growth for all members of the team.Assist budgeting and with vendor/partner management (HW/SW maintenance contracts).EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & OTHER REQUIREMENTS:4 year college degree from an accredited school preferred, but may be substituted with years of relevant experience.Microsoft and VMware certifications are highly preferred.5+ years working directly with Active Directory, DNS, GPO, DHCP, DFS, VMWare ESXi and vSphere, Veritas BackupEXEC, and patch management with WSUS and/or SCCM in a production environment.5+ years’ experience working with Windows servers in the following capacity: Design, configuration, and administration of Windows 2008r2 or 2012. ITIL process improvement experience is a plus.Basic understanding of networking, firewalls, and load balancers is a plus.Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills – solves most issues without help.Highly motivated independent self-starter (“Can do” attitude) with capability to quickly learn, and work with new technologies and complex technical environments.Able to effectively prioritize, multitask and cross-train other team members.Excellent communication skills - phone, e-mail and documentation.Willingness and ability to work flexible hours (nights and weekends) when necessary and provide 24/7/365 operational support.Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
