SUMMARYThe Service Technician is responsible for servicing and repairing vehicles. The Service Technician may also be assigned to conduct the re-delivery service on new vehicles to assure that it is in working order when it is delivered to a customer.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESThe following factors will determine your success in this position:You are friendly, prompt, courteous, and efficient.Every new vehicle is delivered to the customer in perfect condition.Repairs and maintenance work is completed on time. All work is completed as the customer requested it.Your work meets or exceeds the dealership’s goals for Service Technician efficiency.Produce quality work. Complete repairs according to published procedures. Follow established safety guidelines.Complete repairs in a timely manner. If there is any delay in diagnosing the problem or obtaining parts, alert the Service Consultant, so they can notify the customer.Inspect each vehicle. Watch for conditions that could result in a problem for the customer. Advise the Service Consultant of the condition and your recommendations.Clean, tag and bag replaced parts. If customers requests, put parts from customer-pay-repairs on the floor in the front of the passenger seat. Larger parts should be given to the Service Consultant. Return warranty parts to the parts department for storage.Return work order to the Diagnostic Specialist or Service Consultant.Inspect all vehicles for damage. If you notice damage to a vehicle, notify the Service or Sales Manager immediately.Review technical bulletins and service publications as they become available. Attend and participate in the training programs your Service Manager recommends.PROMOTING EXCEPTIONAL CUSTOMER CAREEvery Lexus associate is responsible for providing exceptional customer care. Of course, the basics are important:Be courteous to customers and co-workers.Greet customers politely and smile.Keep your work area clean and organized.Make sure you are well-groomed and wearing a neat, clean uniform.Operate all vehicles responsibly. (radio, cleanliness, etc.)Tell your Service Manager about any conditions that could compromise the integrity or safety of the dealership, associate, or customers.Be a team player. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIESMaintain Lexus certification standards.
