Company Summary:Our client is a consortium of the top dealership groups in the country, with members revenue in excess of $5.73 Billion in annual sales of both new and used cars.One of the automotive dealership groups in this consortium is seeking a rock-star CFO strategist to transform their financial management landscape, implementing new financial controls and procedures that will streamline company expenditures, increase profit margins, and optimize capital investments.____________________________II. Position Summary:The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will optimize the company's financial management landscape, implementing new financial controls and procedures that will streamline company expenditures, increase P&L profit margins, and optimize capital investments.The CFO will be focused on process improvement, P&L management, and implementing cost control measures to optimize the overall financial health of the company.The CFO will also be responsible for managing acquisitions, and ensuring that cost efficiency measures are maintained for the company's various property holdings, infrastructure, facilities, and other assets.___________________________________III. Position Responsibilities:The CFO's primary responsibility includes; planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial and operational reporting and managing banking relationships.A. Executive Management:• Participate in key decisions as a member of the executive management team.• Establish a professional rapport with all members of the management team, both executive and lower level managers.• Help set the tone for the organizational culture, perpetuating the company's corporate vision.• Manage the accounting, investor relations, legal, tax, and treasury personnel.• Manage all third-party partner relationships;- Maintain banking relationships.- Represent the company with investment bankers and investors.- Participate in conference calls with the investment community.B. Financial Management & Planning:• Collaborate with senior management in the creation of the company's strategic vision and action plan.• Develop performance measures that support the company's strategic vision.• Manage the capital P&L, and budgeting activities.• Develop financial management techniques and tax strategies.• Manage the company's transaction processing systems.• Manage employee benefit plans, with particular emphasis on maximizing a cost-effective benefits package.• Report financial results to the board of directors and other key stakeholders.C. Capital Management & Funding:• Monitor cash balances and cash forecasts.• Establish and maintain debt and equity financing.• Manage the pension investment funds and assets.D. Risk Mitigation & Management:• Create a strategy for minimizing company risk, formulating procedures that will mitigate potential loss.• Create and monitor reliable control systems that reduce the company's overall risk profile.• Maintain appropriate insurance coverage to insulate the company from unforeseen potential loss.• Manage all ongoing legal issues involving the company, and it's interests.• Ensure that the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements.• Ensure that record keeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agencies.• Maintain relations with external auditors and investigate their findings and recommendations._________________________________IV. Position Requirements:• 7-10 years' experience as a CFO at an automotive dealership group is required.• A Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or business administration is also a requirement.________________________________V. Desired Qualifications:• The ideal CFO candidate will have a Master's degree in finance, accounting, or business administration.• 8-10 years of progressively responsible management experience at a large corporation would be ideal as well.• The ideal candidate will also have experience managing multiple acquisitions, as well as experience in bank negotiations, financing, and expertise in real estate transactions.• CPA+ is a desired certification, but not required for this position._______________________________________________VI.
